Rainbow Spaghetti is a basic screen saver in its early stages.
It is an application, not an INIT or a CDEV so you can put it anywhere on your hard disk. But I recommend that you put it in the system folder and if you are using System 7, put it in the Start Up Items folder.
Rainbow Spaghetti requires the following:
at least 100K RAM (more for big pictures)
system 6.0.7 or 7.0 (haven't tried it with earlier versions but I
suspect it should work all the way back to 6.0)

Change Settings-opens a dialog box where you select everything that pertains to the screen saver.
Quit quits the application.
Main dialog:
On/Off check box turns the screen saver on or off. If it is on it will come on and if it is off it will be like it isn't even there except it still takes up memory.
The screen saver will come on after the number of seconds in the "Comes on after___ seconds" text box. If you just want to see what each of the screen savers does put it on 1 second.
The radio buttons on the right are the four modules that comprise Rainbow Spaghetti. Each one is a different screen saver so have fun with each one.
The Preferences button brings up a different dialog box depending on which module you have selected.
Bouncing Spaghetti dialog:
Number of units: lets you select how many units the spaghetti has. Give it 1 or 0 for infiniti.
Color Increment: Bouncing Spaghetti can use up to 2 to the 48 colors. The difference between each color is very small when you increment by only one. The default of 2048 is my personal favorite.
Time Constant: lets you select how fast the ball progresses horizontally each time it changes color.
Use Color?: lets you select if you want changing colors or not. Changing colors takes a lot of time. If you want a faster paced module turn this off and it will only use one color. Turn this off if you don't have a color Macintosh.
EKG Dialog:
Frequency: lets you select how close together the pulses are. Larger numbers make the pulses farther apart.
Moving Picture Dialog:
New...: Brings up the standard file dialog box. You can only open files of type 'PICT' which are just regular old picture files. Careful about big pictures. If the pictures are too big the program will bomb. If you really want to use a big picture give Rainbow Spaghetti more memory when you restart. I have not yet provided for using the correct colors for version 2 pictures. But it will display them.
Puzzled Dialog:
Horizontal Divisions: lets you select how many blocks there will be across the top of the screen.
Vertical Divisions: lets you select how many blocks there will be across the side of the screen.
Known bugs:
bombs with large pictures when it doesn't have enough memory.
